Not only that but a Class A CDL can take thousands of dollars to get, and road experience comes as HARD LESSONS.
And it is freekin HARD to get on at UPS. I’ve been on the road as a driver for 2 years and I got ghosted by them. Plus they work in all (hot, storming, freezing) weather and all traffic conditions. GIVE THEM THE FREEKING $42 AN HOUR.
I had a company offer me $16 an hour for Class A CDL work. They would not have had the AUDACITY to lowball me like that if the going rate in the industry was where it should be. I’m making more than that frying chicken.
Wanna know why some store shelves are empty and there are still supply chain problems? Truckers don’t want to put up with your stupid ass in traffic to bring your “stuff” to the stores for $16 an hour.
also the way that the nimona movie showed that hate is a taught behavior?? the way that gloreth, the hero worshipped for slaying monsters, was fully accepting of nimona until her mother told her what to believe? until that generational bigotry was passed down? the way the director’s motive wasn’t even power like most evil government figureheads in media, but rather a fear of monsters destroying the kingdom because that hate had been instilled in her too, like it had in gloreth? the way ballister was also indoctrinated into hatred of “monsters” until he was just as outcast as one? because only then was he willing to change and learn?? and how even people with good hearts and good intentions like ballister and ambriosius and even the queen herself are still capable of perpetuating bigotry and unnecessary violence when they don’t take the time to understand or learn about the “others” they supposedly hate????????? i need to lie down
while i definitely agree that baldurs gate 3 is setting a new standard not just for the rpg genre as a whole but on a quality level for games as a whole, i think its also important to recognise that the development for baldurs gate 3 was very atypical? they were given a pretty unlimited scope to achieve this level of care, love and polish because, well, baldurs gate and the forgotten realms are very important ips
im not saying this justifies a lack of care from other big studios when it comes to their games but i just think its worth keeping in mind, just for the sake of smaller studios who do not have the scope of big names like bethesda or ubisoft. so that in a couple of years down the line people arent dismissing smaller games out of hand made by smaller studios because its “not like baldurs gate 3″
(and obviously crunch is unacceptable regardless of the size of your studio)

As far as I’m aware, no? I believe in the last panel from hell the devs mentioned that the game was originally supposed to release 2 years ago, but due to the pandemic and rewrites it was pushed back
So I haven’t seen anyone mention or rumour crunch but I guess we’ll just have to see what is said after the full release
My inclination is no, given all the extra time allocated to the development, but I can’t say for sure. I certainly hope not

This kind of thing where people promote products for free is a corporate wet dream btw. Word-of-mouth (and the memes have the same impact as traditional word-of-mouth) is more convincing to consumers than actual ads, and the corporation doesn’t have to pay for it. Everyone making Barbie memes and shit is doing Warner Bros’s job for them!!!
